For us at Norrvidinge of Sweden, sustainability means that a measure must last at least as long as the grave-site tenure, which is 25 years. Using cheap, temporary solutions that require re-installation after 3-5 years is the very opposite of sustainability.
Why do gravestones topple over?
Our products are manufactured from 100 % recycled plastic in collaboration with Greenpipe in Växjö. This results in an environmental saving of approximately 80% compared with using virgin raw materials. Recycled plastic generally has a lower environmental impact than materials such as steel and concrete. The plastic raw material has undergone numerous analyses, and no microplastics or harmful substances such as PAHs can be detected. By utilising plastic waste and transforming it into high-quality products, we are giving the material a new lease of life underground.
Local manufacturing
Production is ISO14001 and ISO9001 certified. We produce locally in Växjö, Småland. This means short transport routes, full control over manufacturing and support for the local industry. Everything from the development of material choices to the finished end product.
The product's lifespan
We offer a 25-year guarantee, but in practice we create a permanent stabilisation. Cemetery administrations are largely funded by the church fee and the burial fee. We consider it a social responsibility to ensure that these funds are used efficiently. An investment in Norrvidinge's system means you avoid the cost of re-erecting stones every five years during the mandatory inspections.
