That's how it works

Fundament Frid Step by step –

1.

Mark and prepare

Mark out where you are going to dig and dig to the correct depth; for stones up to 1.2m, the digging depth is 300mm.

2.

Placement

Place the gravestone socket into the foundation and secure it with the supplied spacers.

3.

Installation
Lower the foundation and the base/gravestone down into the hole you have dug and check that it is positioned in line and plumb.

4.

Set the gravestone
Backfill and compact the soil, rake the area and leave it in a respectable condition – Done!

1.

Mark and prepare
Mark out where you are going to dig and excavate to the correct depth depending on the number of pipes stacked vertically.

2.

Prepare
Create an even base using a material suited to the location.

3.

Installation
Position the pipes and fit the caps.

4.

Complete

Backfill around the pipes to the desired ground level – Done

Why does a gravestone lean or topple over?

Many people believe a gravestone is secure just because it has a dowel in the ground or a foundation that was not developed with modern safety requirements in mind. The reality in our cemeteries shows otherwise. The traditional method relies entirely on friction in soil layers that are constantly altered by frost heave, moisture, settlement and other movement. When the ground becomes soft or shifts due to frost, these solutions have nothing to resist it – and the stone begins to tilt.
